Welcome to the online studio of Karen Wallach. Karen is an accomplished creative artist working in fiber art, as an illustrator, and an educator.
As a multimedia fiber artist, Karen uses paint, dye, markers, threads and all types of different fabrics to create contemporary quilted art pieces, fabric wall hangings, illustrations, dolls, and books.
As an illustrator, Karen works in stitched and quilted fabrics, watercolors, acrylic paints, and with various pens and markers to create pictures that romp and dance through the pages of her books.
As an educator, Karen likes to inspire the artistic soul in others help them to express their own voice as an artist. Her main focus as a teacher is fiber arts. She Integrates traditional sewing and quilting with contemporary techniques to teach all ages how to sew, dye fabrics, paint, embroider, embellish, and quilt.
Karen’s handmade quilts and illustrations are inspired by flowers, nature, her travels, and of course her pets. She creates in her studio as well as “en plien” on location.
